PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the stable image forming operation by improving quality of an image to be formed on a recording medium and preventing the recording medium from being deviated from a conveying path, in a recording medium conveying device for conveying the recording medium by driving a belt in order to form an image such as print in relation to the recording medium. SOLUTION: A pinch roller pair 3 for pinching paper P and conveying it toward a print head 2 is provided and the arranging place of the pinch roller pair 3 is set to the downstream side (the print head 2 side) from a part in which a belt 14 is wound on a driven roller 12. Therefore the paper P can be pinched together with the belt 14 by the pinch roller pair 3 while the flat state of the belt 14 is maintained.
