COORDINATE INPUT DEVICE CAPABLE OF INPUT USING FINGER, PEN, AND THE LIKE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coordinate input device which can be used with both a finger and a pen and to provide the input and output integrated type device which has its input surface and display surface as the same surface by integrating it with a display device. SOLUTION: The coordinate input device which makes it possible to use fingers and a pen type body as a position indicator and is used for input indicating operation to an information processor from an input detection surface comprises a position coordinate detecting device 1 which detects the coordinates of a position indicated on the input detection surface with the position indicator, a pressing force detecting device 2 which detects the pressing force of the position indicator on the input detection surface with >=3-stage resolution, and an interface device 3 which individually receives information on the position coordinates from the position coordinate detecting device and information on the pressing force from the pressing force detecting device, integrates them in proper format, and transmits the resulting information to the information processor.
