PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect inner temperature of a baking chamber correctly. SOLUTION: A baking tank 10 is held in a heating tank 8 and refuse contained in a baking chamber 12 within the baking tank 10 is combusted or baked by heating a heating chamber 14 between the heating tank 8 and the baking tank 10. Gas generated in the baking chamber 12 is combusted in a gas combustion chamber 30. When the refuse is baked in such a baking chamber 12, temperature in the baking chamber 12 is detected by means of a temperature sensor 47 located at a position other than the heating chamber 14 communicating with the baking chamber 12 through a blocking member 46. The temperature sensor 47 can detect temperature in the baking chamber 12 directly through the blocking member 46 with no influence of heat from the heating chamber 14 while keeping a constant temperature detecting state regardless of thermal deformation of the heating tank 8 or the baking tank 10.
