PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct a multidirectional input device in a small size, while enhancing the sensing accuracy of the inclining amount of an input lever. SOLUTION: A joy stick 1 is equipped with an input lever 3 capable of inclining with respect to a base board 2, and sensing parts 11A and 11B for the inclining amount of the input lever 3 in the axial direction are installed on the two surfaces of the base board 2. The sensing part 11A has a resisting member 12A mounted on the board 2, and, a first displacement plate 17A is fixed which admits penetration of the input lever 3 at a position adjacent to the resisting member 12A and makes displacement in response to the inclination of the input lever 3. Via an actuator pin 21A, a second displacement plate 22A is coupled with the first displacement plate 17A, and one end of the second plate 22A is fixed to the board 2, while the other end has a contact part 25A to make slide contact with the resisting member 12A, and the plate 22A makes elastic deformations in response to displacement of the first plate 17A to cause the contact part 25A to move along the resisting member 12A.
