PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To greatly shorten the processing time and to stably trace an area by predicting a movement position from a movement model for the area, searching for the area while regarding as a search area some area around the predicted movement position, and varying the search area according to the overlap with another similar area. SOLUTION: An area tracing part 4 predicts the movement area from the movement model for the area having specific features and searches for an area while regarding as the search area some area around the predicted movement position. Then an overlap decision part 5 decides an overlap with another area and the area tracing part 4 varies the search area according to the overlap with another similar area decided by the overlap decision part 5. Thus, the area around the predicted movement position is regarded as the search area to search for the area, and the search range is varied according to the overlap with other similar areas, so the area search range is limited to only a certain range to greatly shorten the processing time, so that the area can stably be traced.
