PURPOSE: A method for guiding the utilization limits of an office line or an extension line of a key phone is provided to input the telephone number of the subscriber's office line in addition to the existing message input for guiding the utilization scope of the office/extension line, and also to enable each key phone user to directly identify the utilization limits of the office/extension line by using his/her own key phone. CONSTITUTION: A main control unit senses the button input of a predetermined program mode in the operator's key phone connected to a main key-phone device, and displays on the LCD of the operator's key phone, the acknowledge message to input an office/extension line utilization limits guidance message made of each item of office line class, the office line type, the office line dial allowance/forbid mark, the office line telephone number and an extension class successively before inputting the each item. Then, the main control unit differentially stores the contents of the input in an internal memory device, and if a predetermined program mode release button is input from the operator's key phone, ends the step of inputting the office/extension line utilization limits guiding message. If the key phone user inputs a predetermined guidance button, the message stored in the memory device is collectively displayed on the LCD of the key phone of the user. A predetermined release button input for completing the guiding step of the guiding message is sensed to complete the above guiding process.
