PURPOSE: A method is provided to improve energy efficiency and prevent environmental contamination. CONSTITUTION: A method for forming a turbulent flow type fuel-air mixture within a combustion chamber(4) of a cylinder(2) of an internal combustion engine(1), comprises the steps of providing a gas phase fuel to a nozzle(9), forming a coherent gas flow(11) directed toward the combustion chamber from the gas phase fuel supplied from the nozzle, sucking the gas flow through an inlet path(5) without mixing with air, sucking the gas flow directly into the combustion chamber through a circular cap(7) of an open valve(6), generating a high turbulent flow within the combustion chamber by a kinetic energy of the coherent gas flow, and mixing the gas phase fuel contained in the gas flow with an air within the combustion chamber.
