PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plug for a drain opening that can plug completely and reliably the drain opening and can be opened and closed easily. SOLUTION: This drain opening plug 1 is intended to open and close a drain opening provided at the bottom of a tub, and is structured so as to crimp normally a valve body 3 to a valve seat 21 by providing the valve seat 21 in the inside periphery of a plug body 2, suspending a slide rod 4 from the valve body 3 that opens and closes a water passage opening 22 by being mounted to and dismounted from the valve seat 21, interposing a spring between the slide rod 4 and a fixed supporting frame 5, and in addition to open the drain opening by fixing a string 7 to one side of the fixed supporting frame 5 and mounting astride a guide body 50 on the other side of the fixed supporting frame through the lower end of the slide rod 4 and pulling the string 7. Therefore, by pulling the string by an optional pulling means, the water passage opening can be opened simply and reliably.
