The surgical tissue dissector is made of non-corrodible material and has a hinge which opens. The working end has flat, rounded dissection surfaces (5). The dissector has a bent-over edge (6). The working end or dissection surfaces have a shape which is not flat. A lock maintains the open position of the dissector without using force. The dissection surfaces are textured, not smooth.
