摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it unnecessary to polish faces of each separation layer for polarized light and reflection layer and to increase the parallel degree of the two layers by forming a substrate block having a repeated structure of substrates, separation layers for polarized light, or the like and cutting the block at a specified angle to the substrate face. SOLUTION: A separation film 2 for polarized light having a multilayered thin film consisting of org. substances is vapor deposited on a blue sheet float glass 1, which an aluminum reflection film 5 is vapor deposited on a blue sheet float glass 4. These two blue sheet float glasses 1, 4 are laminated with an adhesive 3 to obtain a glass body 7 of the basic structure. Similarly, glass bodies 8, 9 of the basic structure are formed and adhered with an adhesive 6 while the end faces of the bodies are shifted to form a glass block 19. Dummy glasses 10, 12 are applied on both faces of the block. The obtd. substrate block is cut along the cutting faces 14, 15, 16 by a cutting machine, for example, in such a manner that the cutting faces make 45 deg. angle to the separation film for polarized light or the reflection film 5. Finally, the cut faces are polished to obtain a beam splitter 20 for polarized light.</p>
