PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dry a photographic sensitive material, in particular a heat developable photosensitive material with high productivity without prolonging a drying line and drying time or impairing quality peculiar to the photosensitive material. SOLUTION: The surface of a long-sized web is coated with a coating fluid in 50-200μm wet film thickness and a coating film of 10-30μm thickness is obtained after drying. The boiling point of a solvent contained in the highest weight proportion among solvents contained in the coating fluid is <=120 deg.C. Drying is carried out at 40-90 deg.C for 0.5-5 min immediately after the coating and then the web is rolled up and heat-treated at 20-80 deg.C for 1-48 hr in the rolled state.
