The tool receiver fixes a honing tool (15) in a pendulum-motion spindle head (8). The tool has an outer ball (10) on the clamping end of its shaft and the spindle head has a corresponding inner ball (4). These act in combination with a clamping mechanism (16) to clamp the tool to the spindle ball, which converts spring force into an axial clamping force.
