CATHODE ASSEMBLY OF ELECTRON GUN FOR CRT

PURPOSE: A cathode assembly of an electron gun for a CRT is provided to reduce the capacity of a heater by enhancing the heating efficiency of an electron radiating material by heating. CONSTITUTION: A cylindrical sleeve(22) supports an electron emitting section(21). A fixing member(23) is inflated in the upper section and coupled with sleeve(22) in the lower part to wrap the sleeve(22). The fixing member(23) has first support section(23a) having same diameter as the outer periphery of the sleeve(22), second support section(23b) for supporting the heat insulating member(24) and an inflated section(23c) extended from the second support section(23b) to wrap the sleeve(22). The inflated section(23c) is provided in the outer periphery with at least one through-hole to reduce the heat capacity. A heater(25) is inserted into the sleeve(22) to heat the electron emitting section(21). The electron emitting section(21) has a cap shaped base metal(21a) that is coated with an electron radiating material in the upper side. The electron emitting section can be provided in various structures according to the characteristics of a cathode assembly.
