PURPOSE: An engine shut down protection device of a manual transmission vehicle is provided to prevent an engine from stopping in a slope, by automatically turning off moment of inertia of a flywheel. CONSTITUTION: An engine shut down protection device of a manual transmission vehicle comprises: a flywheel (52) to be connected with a crankshaft(54) and to be rotated; a variable flywheel(53) to be mounted on the crankshaft and to be separated from the flywheel as a fixed distance in a flat, but to be connected with the flywheel in a slope and to rotate together the flywheel; an elastic device(56) to be mounted between the flywheel and the variable flywheel in order to connect the variable flywheel with the flywheel in a slope by self-weight and to separate the variable flywheel from the flywheel in a flat.
