PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new antibody comprising an antibody binding to an epitope containing a peptide part having a specific amino acid sequence, recognizing a human scavenger receptor and useful for identification or determination of a macrophage and diagnosis of arteriosclerosis, and the like. SOLUTION: This antibody is a new anti-human scavenger receptor(hSR) antibody binding to an epitope containing a partial peptide of either peptide having an amino acid sequence defined by the amino acid numbers 199 to 209 to the amino acid sequence shown in formula I, peptide having an amino acid sequence defined by the amino acid numbers 325 to 342 of the amino acid sequence shown in formula I, peptide having an amino acid sequence defined by the amino acid numbers 401 to 419 of the amino acid sequence shown in formula I or peptide having an amino acid sequence defined by the amino acid numbers 342 to 358 of the amino acid sequence shown in formula II. The antibody is useful for identification and determination of a microphage and diagnosis of arteriosclerosis, and the like. The antibody is obtained by culturing a hybridoma cell generated by fusion of a splenic cell of a mammalian immunized with the peptide as an antigen with a mammalian myeloma cell line. |
