PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an automatic transmission capable of fully exhibiting an effect of neutral controlling by shortening the time from stopping of a vehicle to release of an input clutch. SOLUTION: This control device is provided with a vehicle stopping estimating means 26 for estimating a vehicle being about to stop from vehicular velocity detected by a vehicular velocity sensor 32, and an input clutch control means 26 for lowering oil hydraulics of a hydraulic servo from oil hydraulics under normal engagement status to standby pressure under which the engagement status of the clutch can maintained based on an estimation of stopping by the vehicle stopping estimating means 26. The input clutch is thereby released in a short time by starting a releasing operation of the input clutch accompanied by neutral controlling from the standby pressure status.
