PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability and to reduce power consumption by judging whether a main body part is necessary to be shifted to an operation state or not in a communication control part and turning on power supply to the main body part when it is judged that the main body part is necessary to be shifted to the operation state. SOLUTION: Facsimile machine FS1 is constituted of a main body part 101 controlling whole equipment, a communication control part 111 controlling a communication function and a power source part 131. The power source part 131 incorporates an on/off SW 134 turning on/off all a whole main body part power supply path 132 to the main body part 101 and is controlled by a signal line 135 from outside. The signal line 135 is connected to a CPU 112 of the communication control part 111 or the out port of an attached LSI and is controlled by the CPU 112. When a power off signal is outputted from the communication control part 111, the main body part power supply path 132 to the main body part 101 is interrupted by the on/off SW 134 of the power source part 131 and the main body part 101 does not come to consume power.
