The fuse unit comprises a support (2) made of an electrically insulating material, with a two contacts and with a fusion conductor (5), the contacts being provided at opposite end areas of the carrier. The fusion conductor (5) extends between the contacts and is connected with each of the contacts. One or both contacts has a contact band (3) by a side of the support (2) bent over the fusion conductors (5). Independent claims are included for methods of manufacturing the fuse unit.
