A compound needle in which a blade of a slider having a tongue formed by overlapping two blades with each other is stored in a blade storage groove formed in a needle main body, wherein a bend to press a blade side surface against a groove side wall in the blade storage groove of the needle main body is provided on the blade, and the tip side of the blade is held laterally in the groove at positions equally divided on right and left sides from the cener of a groove width so as to more securely center the blade in the blade groove.
