<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a head speed maximum position and an impact point to easily coincide with each other by setting a horizontal interval between a shaft axis and a contact point on a face surface when normally hitting a ball according to a distribution shape of a head speed on a swing locus in an iron club. SOLUTION: In an iron club, a horizontal interval (d) between a shaft axis S and a contact point 6 being a hitting point on a face surface 3 when normally hitting a ball 5 placed on a horizontal plane 4 at a normal loft angleθand a lie angle, is set according to a distribution shape of a head speed on a swing locus of a golf player. For example, in a No.5 iron club, the horizontal interval (d) is set to 6.0 mm in the rear of the shaft axis S, and in a No.9 iron club, the horizontal interval (d) is set to 7.0 mm in the rear of the shaft axis S. The horizontal interval (d) of a No. iron club other than that is also selected in a range of 5 to 8 mm while considering respective club characteristics.</p> |
