The hose (3) is mounted on a free running reel (2). One end of the hose is connected via a stopcock (5) to the mains water supply pipe (6). On the other end is a nozzle (7) with a hand-operated delivery valve. A pressure sensing system detects when the nozzle valve has been opened and opens the stopcock. The system has a self-regulating mixer for foaming agent from a container (21). The installation also has a hand-held dry powder extinguisher (25).
