PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an information recording and displaying device capable of displaying a communication mode while minimizing the increase of a display space by controlling the drive of each segment and showing numeric numbers in a recording mode and controlling the drive of each segment and displaying symbols in a communication mode. SOLUTION: A displaying part 8h and a displaying part 8j are each a seven- segment displaying part consisting of seven segments and indicate numeric characters and symbols by turning on or flashing some of the seven segments. When a photographic mode is carried out, numeric numbers are displayed by respective seven segments of the parts 8h and 8j and a displaying part 8k. When transmission is instructed in a communication mode, part of the seven segments of the part 8k is turned on or flashed, segments S1 and S2 and a display symbol S3 are also turned on or flashed, and a symbol mark showing an image that information is transmitted by a portable communication terminal is displayed.
