PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an animal excrement treating material having low calorific value by using a waste plastic material having high calorific value. SOLUTION: The objective animal excrement treating material is produced by mixing one or more kinds of waste plastic materials having high calorific value with a small amount of a water-absorbing resin and granulating the mixture or further adding an inorganic material to the above mixture and granulating the product. It is producible at a low cost and combustible even in a water-containing state after use. Granules of the animal excrement treating material bonding with each other at wet parts can be produced by forming a coating layer composed of a mixture of paper powder and a water-absorbing resin on the surface of the granules produced by the above process. The animal excrement treating material is combustible even after use.
