PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the safe monitoring of sign phenomenon of disasters which are micro displacements of unstable strata, rocks, etc., at all times and to enable utilization for preventing disasters such as land slides in cliffs and slopes. SOLUTION: In an optical fiber sensor 4, an optical fiber 6 is integrally displaceably mounted to an object 5 of monitoring such as a rock or the like with a possibility of displacement. An optical fiber 8 on the side of a stable stratum 7, which is a reference side of monitoring, is detachably connected to the optical fiber 6 via optical connectors 9a and 9b to connect the optical fiber 6 on the side of the object 5 of monitoring to an optical time domain reflectometer 10 via the optical fiber 8 on the side of the stable stratum 7. Then the vicinity of the tip of the optical fiber 8 on the side of the stable stratum 7 connected to the optical fiber 6 on the side of the object 5 of monitoring is fixed to the side of the stable stratum 7 by a fixing means 12.
