PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the conflict of a system bus and to improve the processing efficiency of a data base by including a disk system part and a data base processing part which reads directly the data recorded at the disk system part and applies the data base processing to these read data. SOLUTION: A disk system part where the data are recorded and a data base processing part which is connected to the disk system part and reads directly the data recorded at the disk system part to apply the data base processing to these read data in response to the instruction given from a central processing part, are included. An intelligent disk system 21 consists of a selection/projection device 20 and a disk system 19. The device 20 is connected to a system bus 11 and a disk controller 13. Then no record data are transferred to the bus 11 for the selection and projection processing when only the selection/ projection processing is carried out. As a result, the conflict can be prevented with other data on the bus 11.
