摘要 <p>The invention concerns a method and a design for an apparatus for high-speed and high precision absolute measurement of the diameter of transparent fibres and the control of internal and surface defects. Said invention uses a phenomenon of interferometry. It is based on the combination of a digital processing of the signal for the absolute measurement of the diameter of fibres and the detection of very small defects and a method of analog processing for fast high resolution measurement and real time detection of the defects. The apparatus comprises an optical assembly (4) projecting the interferometry signal on two linear sensors (6 and 7), each connected to a digital (8) and analog (9) signal processing card. The combination of digital and analog measurements enable to provide fast and absolute measurement of the diameter.</p>
