Automatic head lamp dipping device transmits pulsed signal with defined code only dips head lamp if received signal does not have same code

The device has a transmission unit for emitting a pulsed first signal in the direction of travel of the first vehicle (1) carrying the head lamp, a receiver unit for receiving a second signal and a control unit (7) for causing dipping of the head lamp (2) depending on the received second signal. The transmitting unit transmits the first signal at least at times with a defined code and the control unit only dips the head lamp if the received signal does not have the same code. An Independent claim is also included for a method of automatically dipping a vehicle head lamp.
