摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce time since an image reader starts a reading operation of a medium until a processing terminal finishes data extraction processing. SOLUTION: A processing terminal 2 sends size designation data designating the size of image data to an image reader 1, the reader transmits image data which includes an area including data to be a target in the image data of a medium and the area of margin for detecting the edge parts of the image data of the medium among image data read by an optical reading part as specified image data to the terminal 2 on the basis of a designated size according to the size designation data, and transmission time is accordingly reduced to make processing start in the terminal 2 early.
