PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an infrared light detector having a thin film conductive path which surely guides electrons by applying an infrared light from outside. SOLUTION: An infrared light detector having a photosensitive thin film with planarly arranged quantum boxes having an electron trap effect comprises a thin film conductive path 9 laid along a photosensitive film 2 through a very thin barrier film 3 for guiding electrons unbound from the quantum boxes by applying an infrared light from outside. Thus the electrons confined in the quantum boxes can be surely detected through the conductive path 9 by emitting the infrared light. The process for surely flowing out the electrons bound in the quantum boxes by emitting the infrared light can be controlled by adjusting the number of electrons and the combination degree in the conductive path 9 and the photosensitive thin film including the quantum boxes which bind the electrons, using gate electrodes, etc.
