摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modified rosin derivative which has acryloyl or methacryloyl groups and can be used as an active-energy-ray-curable pressure- sensitive adhesive. SOLUTION: This modified rosin derivative is represented by formula I (wherein R1 is H or methyl; R2 is a rosin residue; and n is 0-4) and is prepared e.g. by the addition reaction of an isocyanate compound represented by formula II with rosin in the presence of a catalyst. It is usually preferable that 0.5-2 mol of the isocyanate compound is used in the above reaction based on 1 mol of carboxyl or hydroxy groups of rosin. The reaction is conducted preferably at 50-150 deg.C for 1-24 hr. Rosin mainly comprising a hydrogenated rosin or hydroabietyl alcohol is preferable as the raw material rosin. An organotin compound (e.g. dibutyltin dilaurate or dioctyltin dilaurate) is especially preferable as the catalyst.
