PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of a continuous water washing machine and to enhance the flexibility of its constitution. SOLUTION: The continuous water washing machine is provided with both a drum 1 with an opening into which laundry is inserted at one end and an opening from which laundry is withdrawn at the other end and partition walls 4 to divide the inside of the drum 1 into a plurality of chambers, sequentially transfers laundry from a chamber on the side of the insertion opening to a chamber on the side of the withdrawal opening, and continuously performs washing. In this case, transferring plates 8 and 9 for transferring laundry by the action of a screw are provided in the first chamber 5 and the second chamber 6, and a scoop 13 for scooping laundry up and transferring it at the center part of the drum 1 is provided in the rearmost chamber 7.
