TERMINAL MONITORING METHOD IN ETHERNET

PURPOSE: A method for monitoring a terminal in an Ethernet environment, is provided to record states of each terminal dispersed to nodes in state files of each terminal, and to record contents of the terminal states in state files of a host at predetermined intervals from each terminal, then to read the recorded contents at predetermined intervals for display on a monitor. CONSTITUTION: State files for managing a state of a terminal(10) are generated in a terminal(10) and a host computer(30) with an identical name(s100,s400). Whenever self state is changed in the terminal(10), the change of the state is sequentially recorded in the state file(s200). The changed state file is transmitted to the host computer after a predetermined time(s300). The host computer(30) duplicates contents of the changed state file to the state file generated in the step of s400(s500). And a monitoring computer(40) reads the state file of the host computer(30)(s600), to detect states of each terminal and outputs a detected result to a monitor or a printer at need(s700).
