A TRANSFORMATION CIRCUIT AND A METHOD OF ENCORDER CHIP IN A MPEG-2 VIDEO

PURPOSE: An encoder chip conversion circuit of an MPEG-2 video and a method for the same are provided to reduce the number of filter formed in an inside of a chip and a size of the chip by using the buffer located in the inside of the chip in order to perform a decimation filter process. CONSTITUTION: An external memory(10) stores input pixel signals of 4:4:2 and outputs pixel signal corresponding to macro blocks. A vertical filer(20) converts the macro blocks of 4:4:2 to macro blocks of 4:2:0 by filtering the macro block pixel signals of 4:4:2 outputted from the external memory(10) to a vertical direction. An encoder module(30) encodes pixel signals corresponding to the macro blocks filtered through the vertical filter(20).
