PURPOSE: An indexable type milling ball end mill is provided to fix a cutting insert for performing real cutting in a main body with screws and a clamp in a speedy, precise and strong manner, thereby improving the machining precision, the roughness of machined surface, and capability for machining a cutting edge. CONSTITUTION: An indexable type milling ball end mill includes a main body(52) and a cutting insert(70), wherein a V-shaped reference surface is respectively provided in the cutting insert and the main body so that an insert slant surface(76) of the cutting insert inserted in a head(54) of the main body contact a protruded end part(86) of a clamp(80) movable vertically by a joint operation of a clamp screw(94) and a stopping ring(88), thereby the reference surfaces of the cutting insert contact slot reference surfaces of the main body strongly and closely, simultaneously fixing the insert. Additionally provided through holes of the cutting insert and the main body are coupled with corresponding coupling screws, so that upper and lower surfaces of the main body are deformed elastically and fixing force generated by the coupling is transmitted to the cutting insert, making the clamping stronger.
