The free end of the journal (4) is provided with a part (16) for preventing a sleeve section (11) of the journal rotating relative to a bolt section (10) of the journal. This part is always accessible in order to allow it to be replaced or adjusted. The journal comprises a foot section (6) for securing it to a push rod (7) inside a window or door (3), a bolt with external threading (15), and a sleeve with internal threading (14) for screwing onto the bolt in order to join it to a lock plate (5) in the window or door frame (2). The sleeve is prevented from rotating in either direction.
