PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image processor capable of improving a copy speed by securing appropriate entrance length corresponding to a copy scale factor. SOLUTION: This processor is provided with an optical bench, to which a light source and a mirror for original illumination are attached and which performs reciprocating movement along an original to scan the original, a setting means which sets a copy scale factor and a control means, which changes a stop start position where the optical bench is turned back to forward scan from backward movement in accordance with the copy scale factor set by the setting means in a continuously copying mode. Unnecessary entrance length can be reduced especially when the copy scale factor is large, that is, when a scan speed is slow by changing the stop start position of the optical bench in the continuously copying mode according to the copy scale factor.
