PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the safety of a battery and to restrain the degradation of discharge capacity at high temperatures and the increase of internal resistance by mounting a flat strip-shaped current collecting lead to an end of an electrode plate, by linearly leading it to the outside of a battery from the electrode plate, and by setting the internal pressure of the battery below the atmospheric pressure. SOLUTION: An elliptical rolled power generation element 2 is so received in a bag-like cell case 1 that its rolling center axis 3 is arranged perpendicularly to the opening face of the bag-like cell case 1. Preferably, the case 1 has an airtight structure and its material is a metal laminated resin film. A positive electrode lead terminal 14 is formed of a metal conductor of Al, a negative electrode lead terminal 15 is formed of a metal conductor of Ni, and those current collecting leads each are directly connected to an end of an electrode plate by means of ultrasonic welding or crimping, has a flat strip-shaped form, and are linearly led outside the battery from the electrode plate, that is, in a linear form in the lengthwise direction without having a bent or curved part. |
