NOVEL SUBSTANCES KF-1040T4A, KF-1040T4B, KF-1040T5A AND KF-1040T5B AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

Microorganisms capable of producing stereoisomer compounds KF-1040T4A and/or KF-1040T4B represented by formula [I] and stereoisomer compounds KF-1040T5A and/or KF-1040T5B represented by formula [II] are cultured in a medium to thereby accumulate the substances KF-1040T4A and/or KF-1040T4B and/or the substances KF-1040T5A and/or KF-1040T5B in a liquid culture medium and then the substances KF-1040T4A and/or KF-1040T4B and/or the substances KF-1040T5A and/or KF-1040T5B are taken up therefrom. Because of exhibiting activities of inhibiting diacylglycerol transferase and sphingomyelinase, the obtained substances are useful in preventing and treating arteriosclerosis, obesity, thrombosis, inflammation and diseases relating to immune functions.
