PURPOSE: A method for directly storing image data in a NAND flash memory of a digital camera, is provided to directly store image data gained from a pickup tube in the NAND flash memory without using a frame buffer, so that the circuit configuration of the digital camera is simplified and power consumption is reduced. CONSTITUTION: A counter is re-loaded in order to store image data in the NAND flash memory by the page. Image data gained from a pickup tube are stored in the NAND flash memory. Whether interruption is generated in the counter is confirmed. If so, the storage of the image data is suspended, and whether a bad sector exists is checked. If so, a page number is varied by adding a predetermined value to the page number, and return to the step of checking the existence of a bad sector is performed. And if not, move to a next page is performed. Whether to be an end of one frame is confirmed, if not, return to the step of re-loading the counter is performed. And if so, image pickup is finished.
