PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aeration device capable of finely dividing air bubbles to be enhanced in the supply capacity of oxygen to water to be treated and capable of being reduced in operation cost. SOLUTION: Air supplied into a cup-shaped member 6 is sheared when ejected to a flow passage from air diffusing holes 61 to become air bubbles which are, in turn, broken by fin members 8 to be discharged into a water stream and, therefore, air bubbles are finely divided under such a condition that the flow rate of water 10 to be treated is constant as compared with a conventional device having no fin members 8. As a result, the supply capacity of oxygen to water 10 to be treated can be enhanced and, since conventional operation finely dividing air bubbles by the increase in flow velocity due to the high speed rotation of an impeller 7 and large in power consumption is unnecessary, operation cost can be reduced.
