PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the cost of a communication device from increasing without requiring a CPU which has a fast arithmetic speed by transferring data to a different information processor, and converting the data into a usable format and then sending it back to a communication device when the data is not in the format that the communication device can use. SOLUTION: When a received binary file format is not a format that this facsimile machine can expand, an externally connected information processor 111 refers to an expandable binary file format and compares it with a reported transfer binary file format. When they do not match each other, neither the facsimile nor the external information processor 111 is able to expand the format, so the opposite machine is informed that a binary file can not be received and the process is ended. When they match each other, the external information processor 111 is able to expand the file, so the binary file is received. Then a request to send is sent to the external information processor 111 by using a 2nd communication means 113 to transfer the received binary file.
