<p>Polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and other contaminants are removed from petroleum distillates by mixing a solvent (22) with petroleum distillate (12) to extract the contaminants therefrom. The solvent is recovered and distilled to separate the contaminants (52) therefrom, and is then reused. The petroleum distillate having the contaminants separated therefrom is also distilled to remove any remaining solvent (96) therefrom, with the recovered solvent being reused.</p> |
