PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the size of a window while the rigidity of the window opening part is secured by forming a frame of a side body structure by a cross-piece member in the longitudinal direction of a car body and a vertical piece member in the vertical direction of the car body, and providing window posts obliquely at spaces in the alternating inclined directions in such a manner that the adjacent window posts are symmetrical about the vertical line. SOLUTION: A side structure 3 of a vehicle body structure 1 is formed by a frame 6 and an outer plate 7 to constitute a door opening part 8 and a window opening part 9. The frame 6 is formed by a cross-piece member in the longitudinal direction of the car body and a vertical piece member in the vertical direction of the car body, and it has a structure having rigidity enough to restrain deformation in the vertical direction in the respective parts in the longitudinal direction of the car body. The window opening part 8 is provided with plural window posts 19 between a window head 11 and a window sill 12, and the respective window posts 19 are disposed obliquely at spaces in the alternating inclined directions in such a manner that the adjacent window posts 19, 19 are symmetrical about the vertical line. Further, on the outside of the car body of each window post 19, a continuous window glass is provided. By this arrangement, the rigidity can be improved and the size of the window can be increased.
