PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently output laser beams having a long peak wavelength by a method, wherein a second beam generating structure is coupled optically with a first beam generating structure, thereby generating second beam having a second peak wavelength, optically combining with the first beam having a first peak wavelength. SOLUTION: This device contains a first beam generating structure 68, positioned on a first substrate 70 for emitting fist beam 76 having a first peak wavelength, and a second beam generating structure 72 positioned on a second substrate 74 for emitting second beam 78 having a second peak wavelength. The second beam generating structure is physically fixed to the first beam generation structure, so that the first and second beam generating structures are pinched between the first and second substrates. Thus, the second beam generating structure is coupled optically with the first beam generating structure, thereby generating the second beam which has the second peak wavelength in concert with the first beam having the first peak wavelength.
