PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a replacement phenomenon of a portrait into an optional background by segmenting a photographed picture into a background picture and a portrait, increasing the luminance of the portrait and replacing the background with a monochromatic background picture thereby transmitting them at a transmission side, segmenting the portrait, and reducing the luminance of the portrait by increment thereby replacing the monochromatic background in a received picture with the optional background at a reception side. SOLUTION: A communication picture 21 is photographed by a photographing device in communication on a transmitting side, and a background reference picture 22 is stored in a memory before communication. The luminance data of the segmented picture of a transmission picture 23 is increased by a prescribed value based on the compared result of the background reference picture 22 with the communication picture 21, and the picture other than the portrait is replaced with the background data minimum in the luminance, for example, at 16 levels in 256 gray levels. An optional background image 25 is preliminarily stored. The portrait is segmented by comparing the data of a received picture 24 with the monochromatic background picture data, thus the luminance level of a person picture part is reduced by the increment. |
