PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle door which can be opened naturally from its fully closed position neither varying the mounting positions of existing gas springs nor providing any special door pushing mechanisms. SOLUTION: Gas spring 3 are interposed between a door 2 and a vehicle body 1 where the door 2 is pivotally attached to the upper edge of an opening 11 in the vehicle body 1 and freely opens and closes in the vertical direction for energizing the door 2 in its opening direction against closing moments produced by the weight of the door 2 when it is opened by a predetermined degree, to hold the door 2 in its fully open position. Second gas springs 4 are interposed between the door 2 and the vehicle body 1 so that a energizing force for forcing the door 2 in the opening direction against the closing moments produced by the weight of the door 2 is generated from the fully closed position of the door 2. |
