PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To omit trial printing and to shorten the time for plate change. SOLUTION: A pair of positioning marks 6A and 6B for a screen plate 4 is detected and stored from the lower part by means of a pair of cameras 11A and 11B. Then, a main table 3 is moved to a transferring position T and a film base 7 is sucked and fixed on a working table 9 and a pair of positioning marks 8A and 8B of the film base 7 are detected and stored from the lower part by means of a pair of the cameras 11A and 11B and in accordance with the result of comparison between the detected and stored value of a pair of positioning marks 8A and 8B and the detected and stored value of a pair of positioning marks 6A and 6B, XYθmovement of the working table 9 is performed to position a pair of the positioning marks 8A and 8B and a pair of the positioning marks 6A and 6B. In addition, the main table 3 is moved to a printing position P and the screen plate 4 is lowered on the film base 4 to print and coat it with an electrically conductive paste, etc. As a dummy film base and a work for trial printing can be omitted, even when a screen printing machine is for production for various kinds of products, it is possible to decrease frequency of exchanging plates and to shorten time for exchanging.
