摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus for forming an image at high speed using a plurality of light beams while facilitating adjustment and control. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus comprises n (an integer of two or above) semiconductor laser arrays 301, 302 each having m (an integer of two or above) light emitting sources being driven independently, an optical system for focusing a plurality of luminous flux from the plurality of semiconductor laser arrays on the surface of a photosensitive medium, and a deflector 312 for deflecting the plurality of luminous flux from the plurality of semiconductor laser arrays in a specified direction. When an image is recorded by scanning the surface of the photosensitive medium simultaneously with m×n luminous flux deflected through the deflector, m light emitting sources are arranged substantially perpendicularly to the deflecting direction and an optical system focuses the image such that the interval of focus spots of m luminous flux from the semiconductor laser arrays on the surface of the photosensitive medium is equal to n times of the interval of adjacent scanning lines on the surface of the photosensitive medium. Adjacent scanning lines on the surface of the photosensitive medium are scanned simultaneously by interpolating the interval of a plurality of focus spots from one of the plurality of semiconductor laser arrays mutually with the focus spots from other semiconductor laser arrays.
