PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a ferritic stainless steel sheet excellent in ridging resistance which can not be obtained under the conventional manufacturing technology of high purity ferritic stainless steel. SOLUTION: A ferritic stainless steel slab containing 0.02-10 wt.% C is heated to the temperature of the ferritic single phase (αphase) area, and then, subjected to the hot rough rolling in which the total draft is >=50% with at least two passes in the re-crystallization temperature area, and the number of passes whose draft is >=20% is >=1/2 of the number of total passes in the non- recrystallization temperature range. At the low temperature free from re- crystallization, the low-temperature hot finish rolling in which the total draft is >=50% with at least two passes is achieved, and then, the slab is cooled to the non-recovery temperature range to manufacture a ferritic stainless steel sheet of high purity excellent in ridging resistance extremely less in generation of ridging.
