PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately adjust an interval between plural laser beams and to enhance the interchangeability of a multibeam light source unit. SOLUTION: Two laser beams P1 and P2 emitted from a multibeam semiconductor laser 11 are used for scanning by a rotary polygon mirror arranged in an optical box 8 and made to pass through an image forming lens so that the images thereof are formed on a photoreceptor on a rotary drum. In order to adjust a line interval T on the photoreceptor, rotational positioning operation for adjusting a laser array N so as to form a prescribed inclined angleθis required when the multibeam light source unit 1 is assembled to the box 8. Then, a laser holder 11a and the box 8 are provided with reference members 9 and 10 and the fitting positions thereof are previously adjusted by using a jig and the like. By making both reference members 9 and 10 abut on each other on an assembling spot, the rotational positioning operation is executed. Besides, the multibeam light source unit also can be easily exchanged on a using spot.
